New Link Figurines Coming Soon

All the collectors out there should be happy about this bit of news. There are three new Link figurines that are going to be available soon. They will be Link from the first Legend of Zelda, The Wind Waker and also Skyward Sword. They are going to be three of a set of six that also include Mario figurines. They were sculpted by Yohei Kaneko, who seems to have done a fabulous job. Each figurine should be about two and a half inches tall. The colors used to make them are bright and cheerful. Late January 2013 is when they should be available in Japan. Currently you can pre-order them from AmiAmi. Each figurine is 730 JPY which is about nine dollars and some change in USD currency. The Legend of Zelda and Wind Waker Link figurines have that old cartoon retro look to them. I really love the way they look. Takes me back to memories of playing the game in my childhood. The stance and expressions show Link as a true hero. The price range on these is not super high like on some collectibles. I may actually get these for myself.     I pre-ordered mine on Friday and am sure glad I did. Zelda figures are really hard to come by, especially in the US. THey have a few Mario ones coming out the same day that look nice. I hope they continue with this line!

      I totally agree. I live the in the US and Zelda merchandise is impossible to find here unless it’s a hat or a t-shirt. They make some very nice video game figures in Japan. Here in the States all we get is the same Mario Bros. characters in the same poses, though they do sometimes mix things up by offering different sizes =)

      Yeah, go ahead and feel that way. Personally, I feel that the cel-shaded games are just as good as all the others-if not better. I mean, sure, Wind Waker gets a bad rep a lot, Phantom Hourglass could use an improvement or two, but it’s easy to look past all that. In fact, it’s easier to find Zelda figurines in the U.S.(those things are beautiful, I’ll admit that the WW one was the worst, but still good)than it is for a Zelda enthusiast like me to say that any toon game is dumb. The stories are still amazing-in all three toon games. I enjoyed them, and still enjoy them, incredibly. So I’d really appreciate it if you, oh, gave us a good REASON for agreeing with you instead of saying something so broadly offensive that people get MAD at you. Thanks for your time, and if you hate Wind Waker, go play Ocarina of Time or something.

        Mehh I dont hate wind waker I liked the game I just hated the graphics and how the characters looked. TP was definitely best (if they could make some of the characters look less silly)

    Wasn’t Ganon in Twilight Princess?

    I mean, I’m certain that he was now that I think of it- it was one of the reasons why that game was a disappointment. They set up Zant to be a complete b adass – the Darth Vader of Hyrule. Heck, he leaves Link for DEAD when you complete the water temple and he blindsides you. But of course, with absolutely no good justification whatsoever, at the end of the game – spoiler alert – it turns out Zant is a sad skull kid-like puppet character being controlled by Ganon. Thus cheapening….well, everything that Zant had done up until that point. To cater to Ganon, who didn’t need to be there at all.

    No one tells stories like Nintendo! Durrr… *sigh*

    Who shows up as a phantom. He’s in the game in a flashback though, where the 7 Sages try to bound him to a rock and he escapes and murders them all.

    I already have one windwaker link and the Twilight Princess figure set. I really want the classic Link one. I would rather have the Sward Sword Figma than the one in this set. still all very very cool
