The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be on sale for the low price of only $19.99 at K-Mart. This offer is only for a limited time and will only be available for a week from Sunday May 6 to Sunday May 12. So be sure to check out KMart.com for more details. Jump inside to see their announcement.

This is actually a little unexpected to see a Nintendo game sell for so low this far after the initial release. Especially when other Nintendo franchises maintain their prices for a fairly long time after release. I hope this is not a sign that things are not going well. However since it is only for one week and is only occurring at K-Mart I think that this is just a special case. Either way this is a good opportunity for those who have not played the game and might have passed on it to have a chance at playing. Skyward Sword is definitely not a bad find at $20 anywhere.

So what do you think? Have you purchased your copy yet? Think this is early for a discount price? Let us know in the comments below.

Wasn’t SS $1 at amazon.com the day after it came out or something?

    • Queen of Hyrule

ya but only for like two days. But it was a scam because i went to buy it and it was more then a dollar. without shipping and handling. jacked right?

      • LOL 2 LOZ

        forget this

    • LOL 2 LOZ

      Hey ur right :S

  • http://david.vankomen.me/ David Van Komen

Well, that’s disappointing. I picked it up for the full price when it launched. Good price for those that haven’t gotten the game yet, though.

  • Dionysian

I picked it up for full price in the Limited edition bundle the day of release. Having the gold Wiimote and getting to play it on release day is worth every extra penny.

    • Teh Xbox

Good for you, want a cookie?

      • Dionysian

        Sure, since you’re offering.

      • Teh PS4

I wouldn’t get a cookie from you, it would probably cost about 9.99 just for you hand me that cookie and it would probably be burned because the oven was touched and so it destroys the cookie!

  • thegoldeneye

I bought mine for 40 something. so worth it.

  • drrobotnik2

i got mine for free with new super mario bros with a blk wii bundle. i think $150 was a pretty good deal as of late November.

  • Lionheart717

“I hope this is not a sign that things are not going well.”

You do know that retail stores set their own prices for games right? Nintendo has nothing to do with this sale. The game was sold at full price to K-Mart, so there is no monetary loss for Nintendo.

    • Teh Xbox

Yes, they sell it and it’s no longer there problem, it’s the retailers

  • VioLink

eh.. it was better at 50 dollars when it came out

    • iZelda

      Wrong!!!

    • Mister

In what universe is 50 dollars better than 20?

  • Eli_S

this price was a typo. the
only way to get it for $19.99 is to have the physical ad witht he price
and either price match at best buy, wal-mart, or target, or hope that
your local k-mart will honor the mistake. they are supposed to be
selling it for $39.99. i took my ad to wal-mart earlier today and cot my
    copy.

    • Mister

That’s exactly true. I tried to buy it at K-Mart but it only rang up as $39.99. So I went back with a printout of the online ad. I’m not sure if you need a membership to get their special sales, but that’s what the woman in charge of customer service thought. She was looking at the ad in their coupon and sales paper, which confused her a little. Looking between the paper and online ad, she didn’t seem sure of what the ad was saying. So she kindly sold it to me for $19.99 if I signed up for K-Mart membership… which is free. So I guess I lucked out with K-Mart.

  • Johnnieo7

wow such a great game for cheap :)

  • Sir ORR~YIP

Why are games so cheap in America? It still costs $80 in Australia to get Twilight Princess which is years old now.

    • Teh Xbox

      American Dollars?

      • The Lemons

Wow, haven’t herd from you in a while unless this isn’t the real Teh Xbox, if it isn’t then FRAUD!

      • Sir ORR~YIP

No, that’s Australian, but the exchange rate is mostly the same, I did a calculation and it only works out to be $82 American. So you can see the price difference. Games here in Australia are extremely expensive.

        • Robgoro

Australia has some pretty radical restrictions against games that discourage their distribution, and that includes price inflation – Japan has the same problem…

I’m sorry you have to be on the wrong end of a socio-political argument. Rest assured I’d be happy to ship you a copy from the U.S. were shipping rates not just as horrific!

          • Sir ORR~YIP

*sigh* ahwell. I’ve been hoping to move to either America or the UK anyway. :)

          • Mr. Resetti

Good, the UK needs and I mean NEEDS more Zelda fans.

          • iZelda

True, I’ve got a friend from England and he says hardly anybody plays Zelda ._.

          • Sir ORR~YIP

By saying this, you’ve now just decreased my wanting to go there…. I’ll still definitely go there to visit though.

        • iZelda

I’m a Kiwi and it doesn’t cost alot

          • Sir ORR~YIP

Lucky you. I live in a small town though. I don’t get much opportunity to go to stores like KMart and get cheaper games. I always have to order online from EB or Game.

    • iZelda

      *GASP*

  • Guest

I think sales will go up again when the Wii U is out. A lot of people want to play Zelda but didn’t buy a Wii.

  • GHIRAHIM

Well, anyone who has a Wii and doesn’t have this game yet no longer has an excuse to not go out and get it

  • Sonny

I don’t think that this is a discount price. K-Mart isn’t making a lot of money so they have to do something to survive.

  • LOL 2 LOZ

Aaaaggghhh!!! I just moved half way across the world to Turkey so now I’m not in America! Plus I don’t have this game so screw this! Plus plus they don’t have K-marts in Turkey! I’m sooo pissed off right now!

  • Ben-john-wring

OMG! i just got home and my nan burnt this game someone buy it for me :’(

  • Neutopia

I already got the bundle on day 1, and hell, I would probably pick up an extra copy for $20 and just keep it sealed for the future. :P
