Skyward Sword New Japanese Bundle Boxart

When Skyward Sword first launched it came with a limited edition gold Nintendo Wii Remote Plus. However, those initial shipments are long gone and it’s actually quite rare to find the gold Wii Remote Plus bundle in retail stores. You can still find it online on ebay, but you’ll find yourself paying a premium.

Over in Japan a brand new Skyward Sword bundle is now available and you can see it pictured to the left. This time around it still comes with the bundled Wii Remote Plus, but unfortunately it isn’t the gold version. Instead you’ll find a white Wii Remote Plus that simply doesn’t have the charm that the gold version had. This bundle still includes the bonus orchestrated CD that came with the initial shipment of the game. The box artwork does look pretty sweet and it’s nice that these are available for new gamers looking to pickup Skyward Sword. It’s always a hassle to have to pickup an additional controller or add-on just to play a single game. There is no word on whether or not this new bundle will release in other regions. from what I know, Skyward Sword didn’t get the popularity that Mario has there. It wasn’t even in the list of the best selling games there for 2011.

I think you can still find the edition with the Gold Wii Remote in some stores here in Spain. I know some people that bought ONLY the game without knowing the Wii motion plus was necessary so they had to buy an expensive wiimote separately. What I’m trying to say is that these bundles are really useful but only for those who buy games knowing what they’re buying lol

Something I clearly wonder is why the box art of the game is suddenly different than normal? The original Japanese box art is different… this is the Worldwide (outside Japan) box art :/

Here in sweden you can still find the limited edition with gold remote in the most game stores.

I got my bundle when they started going rare right around Christmas, for Christmas. There were only a few bundles at Wal-Mart when it just came out.

That is some pretty good looking box art, I’m glad I got my limited Edition Skyward Sword Box set the first day it came out.
