Super Smash Bros. Challenge #1: Zelda Death Match

Our friends over at ChrisCrossMedia have recently put out a video from Super Smash Bros. Melee. In this video, they have a 4player free-for-fall matchup with all 4players being computer based players. So what’s so special about this? Well, the four players involved are Young Link, Adult Link, Ganondorf, and Princess Zelda. A Super Smash Bros. Death match! I actually found the matchup to be quite exciting and the commentary was pretty good as well. Go ahead and make the jump to see the video embed.

          I heard from someone that Skyward Sword was demolishing Revelations with about an 80% to 20% ratio.

          I'm unsure of the current stats, but if SS is able to defeat Skyrim AND Arkham City, it'll have no problem taking down Assassin's Creed.

            Last I saw it was 60-30 or something like that >.> Regardless, Skyward Sword should have no issue winning after all the other games it just defeated :/

            Not exactly if you consider all the so called vengeful fans of Skyrim who voted for the other game just out of anger *rolls eyes* Regardless we must have won, I don’t see why we wouldn’t have.

            Well, it's beyond me how the percentage system work then >.> Or I was too caught up in how unlikely it was for Skyward Sword to lose that I wasn't paying much attention to the scores…..all I knew was that Zelda was winning, and that's all that mattered to me.

      Me to, man…..Toon Link FTW! I'll always play as him, Link, Mario, Ike or Sonic. I don't play Brawl as often as I used to, but it's still fun to play occasionally in my opinion. Can’t wait to see some info on the next addition to the series, even though it’s not coming out for at least several years or something like that :/

        I don't play it as much either unless I have a lot of friends over, I also cannot wait for the next installment, playing as Link with a Skyward Sword artstyle.

          Yeah, Link's new artwork will likely reflect his appearance in Skyward Sword. On another note, many are wondering whether Ghirahim and Demise will be in the game >.> I think that’d be pretty cool, but then there’s the problem of what to do with Ganondorf- Keep him or just replace him with Demise this time around? In all honesty I don’t care what happens; I want to see at least one of those two in the game :/

            I think they should make Demise an alternate costume for Ganondorf. Kind of like how Wario has his Biker costume and his Mario look-alike costume.

            That would definitely fix the "Should we replace Ganon with Demise" situation…..but that would be a big change as an alternate costume. If they did do that, then I’d hope they include a Shadow the Hedgehog costume change for Sonic as well…..I was really hoping he would be more than just an assist trophy *sigh* I don’t really see it being very likely though, because in Wario’s case it’s just the clothes not the whole appearance – Ganon to Demise would change a lot of stuff- Like skin, body structure, wielding a weapon and maybe more. It’s not impossible, but I see it as being more unlikely :/

            I think that they would keep Ganondorf, but add Ghirahim. I think adding Demise would be kind of a spoiler for those who haven't played the game. I don't really know, as awesome as it would be to play as Demise, it just seems unlikely to me, sadly.

            Since the next Smash Bros. should be released in some two years or so you’d think most people would’ve gotten a chance to beat Skyward Sword by then…..but in all honestly I’d prefer Ghirahim more as well, with his true form as either an alternate colour scheme or Final Smash. Also, he could definitely wield one (or both) of his swords that he uses when fighting Link.

      I did….though I haven't played Melee for who knows how long >.> I memory serves; it was rather annoying to unlock it right?

        Yea it was really annoying, I beat with Donkey Kong.

          I can't even remember who I used >.> To many video games have been played since then, quite a bit of my memory connected to that game has been lost :/ Ah well, doesn’t really matter I suppose.

            The only reason I remember is because it was very memorable for me, Melee being one of my favorite video games.

            It was very entertaining, that is for sure. However, my personal favorites on the GameCube were Super Mario Sunshine and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker hands down. Actually, Melee was my favorite multiplayer game while the aforementioned are tied for my favorite single player game on that system. My character of choice was always Dr. Mario or Roy. Ike replaced Roy in Brawl, so now he’s among my favorites staring as my heavy hitter character of choice. As for Dr. Mario, well Mario works just as well…….oh, how great it would be to see Shadow Mario in the next installment. Yep, Ghirahim, Shadow Mario and Shadow the Hedgehog, those are my main three new characters I would love to see make an appearance.

    Super Smash Bros. Melee is better than Brawl in almost every way. I only give Brawl the upper hand for its online.

    Now I know what I'm getting with any Christmas money I get. Melee for Wii. I mean the gamecube version to play on the Wii. cuz i already have Brawl.

    Yeah I got it right. I picked Young Link from the get go. Plus he's my favorite in this game to so it's a win win for me :)

    Sad that Zelda and Adult Link lost. I always main the two in Brawl. Link is good for strategy and his down B move is a real spike, however apart from it, non of his attacks are that strong and it takes a lot of dancing around to get them to high enough %. Zelda on the other hand is a power house. 3 side As and my oponent has 60% damadge and then an upward A to finish the job. However she sucks in the air. The only move I use in the air to gain me liverage is Din's fire. That way she glides and gets additional momentum

    Sometimes a few friends and I would do this, mostly in Brawl now though. We pretended that Ganondorf was Toon Link's dad one time.

    Try taking on 3 lvl 9 cpu's, no items in a team match. Totally frustrating but so much fun! I was Link against Ganon, Zelda and young Link. Let's say cpu's don't even try to mess with me anymore.

    it's hard for me to play as zelda (maybe i need more practice). but in SSBB, Toon Link is beast!

    BTW, You all probably know by now, but in SSBB, if you press Sheik's profile picture, you can play as her in the beginning of the game. And if you use the Wiimote only as the controller, pick Samus and press – and + at the same time. You'll be zero suit samus

      Toon Link is amazing in Brawl. And yes, Zelda can be a tad bit tricky to figure out. Best advice I can give you is to really work on Din's Fire. It is quite the useful move, once you get it down pad. Also, use Farore's Wind as a quick way to get behind any attacker.

    That was really exciting to watch, and I dont knwo why I never thought of doing this before, I'm going to go right now. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh never mind. It would take too long to take my gamecube out of the basement, my mom wanted to get rid of it (like garbage) but I convinced to keep it.
