Now who looks like a troll Tom McShea?

  • robotortoise

Aaand GameSpot is forever imbued with the fault of giving an amazing game a "7.5".

    FAIL, GameSpot. Just…fail.

  • OoT

McShea has a dumb hand and ass

  • RedDekuScrub

He was so happy when he killed the Lizalfos!

  • Dan

I have the game, and the controls don't always do what you want. Especially the jab, if you thrust too hard it registers it as a slash

  • makosheva7

    this just made my day!

Haha, you've been proved wrong xD
    I love this guy now.

I love LoZ as much as the next guy but I was kinda disappointed with the controls. The sword fighting is ok but it's difficult to relax and fight. The aiming and flying controls need A LOT of fixing and tweaking. …And the overall wii motion plus gets out of calibration too often.

    • Vernon

SWIFTpr0? I just saw this exact comment on youtube

    • Dreiko

if you were in a real sword fight would you be relaxed ? of course not, the aiming is used by the motion plus, not the pointer, don't try poiting because it won't work very well, flying is ok, and i haven't recalibartet my wiimote the whole time, you either force the controller way to much or just don't know how to play the game properly (like the guy at gamespot)

I played the demo for the first time yesterday at Gamestop, it was incredible! It really is full 1:1 gameplay and it's so easy to play, it feels remarkably similar to Twilight Princess in terms of movement and animation also.

This video was filmed perfectly, you are clearly able to see exactly how Link reacts to your every move. I have honestly been dreaming of a Zelda game like this for years. I can't tell you how many times I have cursed my enemy with 'if I could swing this sword the way I WANT to, you'd be dead you fecker!' In a few days, we will all be able to do that. I do agree that after seeing this video as well as the opinions of several of the posters here, I don't think we have too much to fear with the motion controls.

I think the reviwer was bashing because he doesn't enjoy zelda as a series

    • TheMaverickk

Did anyone else notice that Tom McShea or whatever his name is sounded angry while doing the video review?
Seriously just listen to his opening line…. "The Legend of Zelda has gotten into the habit of repeating it's mistakes"… it's said with the same tone that you would scold a kid with :P

Probably, anyone want to check what he gave the other Zelda Games?

  • A_LINK_IN_TIME

Gamespot lost my respect for that review.

    • GARGH

After 8.8 for TP and metroid prime 3 they lost my respect along time ago. And yes pic=spoilers.

  • legend of epic

Hey Gamespot! Why don't you put batteries in your Wii remote!

  • ThePieOfTruth

I love how when the guy in the video takes off his glasses and shrugs link sorta does the same thing! it was great! and perhaps the gamespot person was still trying to waggle his way through this game…

    • Midnafan

he was probably sitting down the whole time. you can't do all that slouching in a chair!

  • Borzy247

i cant wait to get the game tomorrow. i just cant wait it is getting on my nerves :)

  • Zelda fan

Its all about how you hold the wii remote

  • http://twitter.com/coolman1081 @coolman1081

Maybe it has something to do with which kind of senor bar you use.
    Default, or the bulky one.

  • Midnafan

totally debunked. there were even some parts when the video buffered you could see his arm and Link's were almost perfectly mirrored. and it's much more natural to stab then in TP, where you could end up using a less effective attack simply becuase you were Z-targeting.

  • JuicieJ

Ok, I'm officially in love with TheBitBlock, now.

  • Poefred

    Night of the final day
12 hours remain til Skyward Sword is out…

I've decided that a lot of the reviews claim that motion controls are poor because they refuse to move. If you watch videos of them playing, they keep their elbows in and don't move their arms, only their wrists. It's the equivalent of complaining about the controls while insisting that you play the game with the controller held upside down. Of course, you're going to hate it!

Dear reviewers, if you're not willing to play the game as intended, for the love of everything, DON'T REVIEW IT!!! >:(

  • Othy

Maybe Gamespot review guy should actually try and swing a sword like this guy.

  • Tektite

That's amazing aha, I'm so glad that the controls are good. xD

  • Pillz

So far the games felt like a letdown to me, the controls are in fact, clunky. I'm sorry but I'm not going to stand up or sit on the edge of my seat for every hour I play this game, and sometimes even when I am the sword decides to act retarded. I was sitting there with my family in the room watching, as I held the wiimote out to the right, as link just held it off to the left. After about a minute of anger it went back to normal, but this happens all the time during combat, causing massive rage. Other than that, the general lack of direction sometimes irritates me, along with the massive openess of the fucking desert. I don't know if I even want to keep playing anymore.. I might just watch let's play's on youtube instead. I should return it and get my money back while I still can.. I can't believe I'm this angry at a Zelda game, and I've loved every single one up till now.. I just want my controller back.
