Ocarina of Time 3D – A Pair of Glitches

Glitches in The Legend of Zelda series are well known and none are more notorious for them as Ocarina of Time. The game has a vast amount of glitches with some being useful, some being fun and others just ruining your game completely. With so many fans playing the game time after time and discovering almost everything they can about the game sometimes you would notice something was a little off. This led fans to start experiencing the game in a entirely new way and through countless trial and error more and more glitches were discovered.

With the recent release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Nintendo has fixed many of these glitches and said that they have left some in for the sake of nostalgia. Thinking it would be cool for older players of the series to show fun glitches to fans of the younger generation of the game. Personally I haven’t looked into glitches in several years, but fans are still discovering new and exciting ones to this day. A Youtube user and Zelda fan has discovered some on the 3DS version of OoT. While they are new to me they may be old news to other fans of the series. If you’re interested in seeing them for yourself, please watch the videos after the jump.

The first video is an amazing glitch that I have never known about that allows you to see with a brand new perspective in Castle Town. The second is an easy way to win Epona from Lon Lon Ranch. I hope you enjoy them and find them as cool as I did.

      What did MM have? I always thought they fixed all the bugs of OoT with it. I know about the Fierce Deity glitch and a few others, but what do you know?

        The glitches I know for MM are endless. But I know how to get in Sakon's hideout before day 3.

    Another way to get epona is to jump over the fence during the race….

      jumping over the fence only works with epona, as no other horse can handle high obstacle. also, the 3ds version does not allow jumping over any fence. dunno if this was different on the n64…

    My favourite glitch is in TP, walking on magnetic surfaces without the iron boots. You go way faster.

          It only works on the places with the magnetic beam thing. Start being sucked up by it, but then switch items so that the iron boots aren't set to the b button or d-pad in midair. You will land in your normal boots, but still stick. To get off, put the iron boots on and then take them off again.

      I mentioned this last night along with some other more popular glitches, but was told to basically rewrite this draft before i published it, but it looks a little more professional now and Mases always knows what he is talking about. So hopefully my posts look better for now on!

          Well I used to try my best to make it perfect when I started out, but lately I have gotten a little slugish and relaxed with them since I'm used to doing them. I tried adding in my own originality to them and giving more of an emphasis of my views on the subject and giving it my own character, but apparently that wasn't a good idea. =O

          My next news post will go up on the site in about 3 – 4 hours. You can tell me what you think of it. It's not really NEWS, but today is slow.. So I made a "conversation piece" . I'm not sure if im allowed to say what it is, but it will be pretty great!

            I'd give your average articles an 8/10. I think you do pretty good!

            Your articles are detailed, yet summarized and to the point. They make sense, and keep the reader interested. I can tell you put thought into these posts, and I know, writing is not an easy task.

            I'm excited to read the new article you've previously mentioned. I bet it will be fascinating!

            I don't think your articles are bad at all! Just sometimes there are some really obvious spelling errors, that's all I'd watch out for. (Like getting your/you're right and not using bazaar for bizzare.) :)

      i tried that glitch on oot3d just a couple days ago and it didn't work! i did it right, but when i came back to the cave, there was a skullwalltula instead of a gold. i was quite sad. but i'm so gonna try the epona glitch.

      How do you do that there was another glitch in TP I don't know how I did it but I did it was to make death sword disappear not very useful and you have to go back to the start of th dungeon but it was fun (I really am telling the truth)

      Cool! I might do "Gerudo Training Grounds skip" because I´m fed up with that I took the wrong way in the treasure room (I had all the keys except the ones you need the silver gloves to get).

        This glitch is not for the training grounds. it's to skip rescuing the carpenters and getting to the desert

    if u did the young link w/master sword glitch, etc. and if u become adult link, get epona and mount her and get off, u can see your b button is disabled like losing your master sword in the ganon fight. get back on epona and ull see u can use any item on epona and things like the infinite hookshot was preserved in the game. if u use the ocarina or a trade item on epona, u fall through her and are able to control both link and epona. if u jump the gate to escape lon lon ranch and try it, epona jumps through the gate without link and yeah go experiment

      really? I beat the game using the young link with master sword glitch (never even got the kokiri sword) and that never happened to me. I wasn't able to use my sword anywhere after becoming adult link, but I fixed that by buying the giants knife

      The gamecube disc. IDK. to my knowledge it is just a port of the final 64 version of the game. I think 1.3 or 1.4 im not sure. Like 1.0 and 1.1 were able to do the swordless Link glitch, but others had to use a different method.

    pretty cool glitches. I found a cool little glitch in the Shadow Temple, just look through the walls and you'll see the sun from outside…its pretty mysterious. :D

      Did you know the ORIGINAL shadow temple is above the new one. If u have "levitate with L" you can jump over it and land at the OLD entrance!!!

    Glitches are a fun way to break the rules of the game, such as Epona riding in Castle/Clock Town, or being able to wear the Fierce Deity Mask outside dungeons. 8)

      Those glitches SUCK. well they are kewl, but when the game freezes it sucks =(

    I found a glitch too. In the Spirit Temple as kid Link, I fought a stalfos with a Deku Stick (weird huh) in a certain way and my deku sick broke in half. I thought oh well and when I went to pull out another Deku Stick the weirdest thing happend. I still had the broken Deku Stick in my hand. I kept on hitting the Stalfos with it and it seemed like it did the same ammount of damage a regular Deku Stick does. After I killed the Stalfos I kept on hiting the wall and the ground and it would'nt break anymore. I learned quickly that when you put it away it goes away forever until you activate the glitch again. : ( I'm not sure exactly how it works or wear you need to be to make it work. You can try it were I tried it but it may work anywere.

      you probably broke it, fell off of a cliff after it broke (i heard of a glitch in kokiri forest where you hit one of those shiekah stones next to a cliff with a deku stick, you fall off, and the stick is an infinitely broken sword you can use(until you put it away :(

    they should have had the young link with master sword glitch. all you need is a file where you have beat the game and another open file. what you do is in the beaten file, go to hyrule field from castle town, equip the biggoron's sword, get on epona and save. then create a new file, and link will be holding the master sword upside down.

    I found four glitches in OOT3D, they are 1) If you hold B for just a fraction of a second you can do the normal spin attack without the magic, 2) Hold the deku shield as young link, then switch to the hylian shield while still holding the deku shield, then switch back, you will be floating an inch above the ground, 3 & 4) I can't remember what they were.

    I've never found glitches all that interesting but that Epona one was quite cool; I won Epona on my first try in the race but my sister has been stuck at that bit for ages and refuses to play just because she keeps losing (and she really wants Epona) so that will be very useful for her to try :) .
