In a recent interview with Official Nintendo Magazine Eiji Aonuma talked about Skyward Sword and gave some more tidbits concerning its release date. We did hear at last month’s E3 that the game would not release in 2010 as originally targeted, but it’s nice to know that we shouldn’t have to wait too long in 2011.
“The basis we have now is very, very solid,” Aonuma told ONM in an exclusive interview that appears in the August issue of the magazine which goes on sale today. “Early 2011 – that is what we’re aiming for.”
It’s also worth noting that the Nintendo 3DS has been tagged with the early 2011 release as well, yet that handheld console has been confirmed that it will release before the end of the fiscal year for Nintendo, (March 31st, 2011). Thus, it would seem to be a safe assumption that Skyward Sword will in fact release by March 31st of next year. Lets just hope it doesn't get delayed by a few months like super smash bros. brawl.

DOnt get me wrong, i love the zelda series. I just dont like the way skyward sword looks. It looks too cartoon like. The way Twilight princess looked was amazing. I seriously think the designers have down graded on this one:/
You would've been even madder if they did it with the Twilight Princess graphics. They said that they tried it with it, but it didn't look good because of Wiimotion plus. It would've been choppy and non fluent in links motions.
i guess that problem will only take time to fix. i prefer TP graphics, but i would prefer something else and fluent motions rather than TP graphics and lag

When I went to bestbuy's wbsite and I looked up Skyward Sword, it said you can pre order it and that the release date was 1-1-2011.
That is their fake date. They put it there so that when the real release date comes out, they can place it there. Besides New Years isn't a work day, so why would it be released then?

I don't mind if there's a delay, 'cuz that's why Twilight Princess was so good. They had so much time to re-think things, like giving the twilight areas an unsettling color. But, aside from the release date, I think this will be at least an exceptional game. And, in my opinion, will be the toughest one to date, enemy and control wise. I think it could outdo Wind Waker, 'cuz that was the toughest so far, especially the bosses. (If you don't agree with that, it doesn't matter, that's a matter of opinion.)

I bet that Miyamoto and Aonuma both like the new control scheme that they are already working on SS' succesor. I beleive that we are either gonna get toon link or a better version of TP graphics. What do you guys think?
From what they said, they are pretty satisfied with the SS graphics. A very rough quote: "…Finally we found a graphics style for Zelda, we want to keep…"- I think, it was Miyamoto in an IGN interview but I'm not sure…
So they'll probably have an improved version of SS graphics.
SS graphics are closer to OoT ones than both TP and WW. Back then, it was the graphical possibilities that kept OoT from relatively high realism. Now, it's choice of style. (SS is actually quite realistic in graphics. Not as much as TP but quite.)
It seems like in SS they went back to the roots. Back to the roots of both 2D and 3D games. The number of items seems roughly as limited as in the very first title and some old enemies return, closer to their 2D variant than ever before. (Both the *blins and the Octorocs look more like the original design)
Graphics wise, as said, it's somehow what you get if you try to do OoT style in a way that it fits modern graphics standards, so not as much in the realism direction as TP but also not as much into the stylized Toon direction as WW.
Just something in between I guess^^!

I honestly wouldn't care if the whole game was a shade of pink as long as it was a real Zelda game! Who cares what it looks like when its the story that counts! Also I cant wait for this game to come out! Gonna be so fun just to run around and kill enemies with my sword!

and to add to the complaints..i think theres too much toon link (windwaker, four swords, all the handheld games, and whatever else). i mean, for the handheld, its fine, minish cap is one of my favorites…but i think OoT, TP, and SS are the better graphics for everything. dont just let it be for the kids…make it appeal to the 'adults' out there whos 20 or older. ^_^

well i had hoped it would have come out for Christmas but i'm not complaining because as long as it comes out i'll be fine. i just hopes it comes out in a part of the year when i can afford to buy it. i hope this one is like oot and tp and not like mm. i do think that people complain too much about everything. the things zelda fans (not all but some) complain about. what bothers me is when people complain about actually having to move their body. how stupid of a complaint is that? they act like the world is going to end because they have to pick their lazy butts up off the couch to play. it's so stupid. man are people lazy! that's why i love tp because i get to feel like i'm really in the game and not just pushing a bunch of stupid buttons. more movement + less buttons = more fun! at first i thought SS's graphics looked cartoony but now i have watched the trailer and the presentation a couple times and i don't think so anymore. they are trying to fix one of tp's problems and that is tp was too dark. ss has the realism in it, you just have to look at it closely. it isn't cartoony it's colorful.

Meh, Spirit Tracks was just stalling to stop fanboys getting bored waiting for Skyward Sword. Why? It's pretty much the same as PH, except all the characters are reskinned, you get to control a phantom, and YOU GET A TRAIN INSTEAD OF A SHIP OMFG.
Back on topic, SS is going to be awesome. Unfortunately for us britfags we get it after America, therefore meaning that their heads will go further up their own arses, because all americans think they're better than everyone else. FACT.
I don't think that the release dates will differ that much, look at the games listed on top of the page, nowadays (since Twilight Princess) we get the games here in Europe less than one week after the US release, that's OK I guess. The first Zeldas came here several months later, and compared to the JP release dates, even over a year later. When AoL was released in Japan, LoZ wasn't even availale in the US/EU yet for another 7-10 months!
I hope that the next Nintendo console (let's call it Wii HD) will have no more localization and country restrictions (same console worldwide) and finally get rid of that anachronistic PAL/NTSC distinction by using HDMI/DVI only, that could save a lot of money for Nintendo because there'll be no more need for several different discs either if they just include all languages at once. And no more quality loss because of converting between 29.97 fps to 25 fps and the like. This could also lead to simultaneous worldwide releases then.

I have all of the games at the top of the screen except Links Awakening and Oracle of ages and seasons. im a huge fan of the series. IM EVEN WRITING A WALKTHROUGH FOR THE ORIGINAL GAME OF THE SERIES. im still working on it though. im doing quest 1 right now and then i will do quest 2 eventually. i know quest 1 by heart; i can even tell you how to get the white sword before you even step foot into level 1. if anyone reads this and wants to know a lot of secrets of quest 1, leave me some replies and i can give you a lot of help and a lot of secrets on the game!
i know a lot about the other games as well, like OOT, WW, TP, MM, and the hand helds. Don't ask me much about the adventure of link though. i have had that game for years and i can't finish it. its very hard. i can't even get to the hammer! besides that ask me anything and i will be sure to reply.
