Curiosity Shop Week 3: Zelda Dungeon Mailbag

March 9th, 2010 by Axle the Beast

Hey, new Curiosity Shop video! Told you I’d still be doing these. And you didn’t believe me. You meanies.

This time around I answered many more questions than usual. Eight questions! Although two of them are asked by the same person… Heh, is that cheating? Hell, there’s another count of cheating in this one, all the Metroid Prime 2 music in the background instead of Zelda music. Here’s the timestamps for all of the questions:

(00:17) When is Zelda Wii coming out?
(00:59) Will motion controls for Zelda Wii be a pro or a con?
(02:26) Is the Light Force related to the Triforce and why does it only appear in the royal women?
(04:00) Should they remake old Zelda games?
(05:09) Why did the Gorons survive the flood in WW?
(06:37) Should there be a magic meter in Zelda Wii, and do you think the Hyrule Castle statue in WW is the Hero of Time?
(08:33) Should they release spinoff 2D games on WiiWare?

Be sure to check out the Zelda Dungeon YouTube Channel where you can also get all the latest Curiosity Shop Videos.

Nice mailbag again mr Axle the Smiecht :P . Thanks for answering my question (and the other questions of course) :D

  • The J-man says:

Yeah I've got a question for next week. In WW link was the same age as link from OOT. In OOT link had to wait seven years to wield the master sword. In WW he didn't. Why is that so?

    XD oh well im crazy

  • xyo says:

eh i like the 3-d zelda games only accept for zelda II

  • Matt says:

Game Stop has a list of games coming out and it says Zelda wii 11/1/10 and I reserved it…… well Great answers like always

  • MetaPwn says:

if the magic meter would be brought back, doesn't that mean we'd have to set a limit on certain things? when as in twilight princess all the weapons were free of use and unlimited (with the eception of the magic armor's ruppie drain)

    • AxletheBeast says:

Yes, that is true. But is that really a bad thing? Having limitations, having things like this, really, adds more depth. For all of it's length, Twilight Princess didn't have a lot of depth. In fact, in some ways it was a little shallow. All you had to do was complete the story and do a few sidequests. The gameplay didn't have a whole lot of depth, and back in the day of LoZ, AoL, ALttP, etc., you had things like this adding a whole lot depth to the gameplay, making the experience much more interesting.

This is just my opinion, of course, but I feel pretty strongly about this. Basically… for me old games = better. But for some reason the newer games are my favorite. I think a combination of the strong points of both halves of the series would make a superior game.

Question- Link in OOT wore the green clothes because he was Kokori, so aren't all the other Link's in later games in the timeline wearing the green clothes to model after the Hero of Time legend passed down in Hyrule, making it the first game in the timeline?

  • Stallord482 says:

I have a question do you think they should bring back the medallions from link to the past in Legend of Zelda Wii?

  • Roxas and Link says:

Um…just because you got me interested. Do you think you could make a video about what you find wrong in Twilight Princes? And why you think it is one of the worst?? Also, not really that big but, Do you think that the slingshot is relatively useless. And should not be included in Zelda Wii?

  • triforceguy1 says:

Is it me, or did I hear a song from Metroid in the background.

    Anyway, great Q and A

  • Xslypher says:

I have a question about the zelda timeline and just some random stuff, okay here i go: in zelda: ocarina of time, it says that a " mother " was injured and gave link to the kokiri and blah blah blah, anyways, a "Mother" but who is the father? i've heard from my friends that his father is fierce diety, but where do they play a role in the series?, and in majoras mask, does the fierce diety mask, and the moon have to do any thing with fierce diety?…

    Please help.. im stumped….

  • Xslypher says:

what do you think about Zelda (64) texture modifications? (oh by the way its pronounced ex sly- fur)

  • triforce says:

here's my question: should they, and will they make you use more items to defeat the bosses, instead of just using the dungeon's item?

  • Happy mask salesman says:

Do you think that I or Tingle will make it?
Do you think there will be masks and if so will they be needed to beat the game or just unloclables?
One last thing can you wear a mask?
    THats 3 not 2

  • midnafan321 says:
