Zelda Wii Playable This Year

While there might be some hesitation by Nintendo in confirming a 2010 release date for Zelda Wii, that is the time frame they are shooting for. Whether the game releases in 2010 or not, we will be playing it before then, at least that’s what Eiji Aonuma wants. Eiji recently had a an interview with Famitsu and within the interview, he talked about wanting to have Zelda Wii playable at this year’s E3. Below are a few quotes from Eiji in the recent interview.

“I’d like to show something playable.” (Referring to Zelda Wii at E3 2010.)

“We’ll work hard in order to get you playing it as soon as possible.” (When pressed about a release date in 2010.)

“We’ve progressed in development since last year. At present, the core areas have come into clear view.”

It really seems like they are quite along the way with Zelda Wii and the team is really going to be pushed for a 2010 release. I still think there is a legitimate chance that we do not see Zelda Wii until 2011. Either way, it looks like we are going to get a good idea what Zelda Wii is all about when E3 roles around this year. Mark your calendars as E3 is just 4 months way, scheduled for June 15th-17th.

Nintendo you are officially killing me, slowly and painfully. Releasing news about this game so rarely and such small details. PLEASE just give us one more picture and the name, I'm too curious and excited!

  • ajsdvqeub says:

If Zelda Wii was confirmed for 2010, it would certainly be among the tops in those "Top Ten Most Anticipated of 2010"!

  • Ikana says:

I just hope they don't try to rush it just to get it to release in 2010.I would like it if they took it slowly so the game would be better

  • konoha4dawin says:

    can't wait.
Also whats happening with winder waker section It needs a lot of updating

  • Multilink96 says:

Awsome!!! I want it!!! Look at my awsome zelda channel on youtube: Multilink96 ;-)

  • DNA says:

I really love the Zelda series but, no offence, when they push the games, they always feel that they could have more. Please Nintendo, we can wait! Every main game has suffered from this "pushed" effect, Ocarina looked rushed with stuff missing, Wind Waker could have been bigger, Twilight Princess could have been better and it was blatantly pushed into the Wii despite clearly not being a Wii title, just to name a few. I really don't want another big Zelda game feeling unfinished just because they want to push it out to increase the sales quicker…

    • Thank you for saying something that I wanted to mention. While seeing something at E3 is nice, I am more than willing to wait as long as I have to for them to perfect the game. Isn't that what Aonuma said he wanted in an earlier interview? To make the game as perfect as possible? If they push it out by the end of this year, I feel it will NOT be as perfect as possible. I mean I'm not just saying this cause my Wii was stolen the last week of December and I'm annoyed. I'm saying it because I don't want another rushed game. Metroid Prime's games all felt vaguely rushed, although I think MP1 felt a lot more polished than the others. Likewise, the old Zelda games such as LttP and LA felt perfect, while Ocarina felt so rushed that the ending was disappointing and led to the eventual release of Majora's Mask.

So Nintendo, please: Take. Your. Damn. Time.

        Point Proven!
world Wide fans, should you please be patient!
I already finished Twilight Princess lots of times getting every single stuff to fullfill my needs of a new game but stil I rather w8 until Big N has a clear shot with a polished and perfectly finished game than get a game full of holes and lacking decent side questing and plot notes… The new control interface Wii Motion Plus will bring should take Zelda to a whole new level and that upgrade's magnitude should be respected, the game should be finished on the time it takes to be another flawless Nintendo title.

Don't know if N will read this but if anyone there does I must repeat: Please just take your time and make a Zelda game we will never forget!

And I just add: Please do a good job and bring StarFox back to life in a Wii title!

        Thank you all,
        Luxiel

  • this. is. me. says:

i'm glad they're making aproper the legend of zelda again. the wind waker, phantom hourglass and spirit tracks were the most stupid thing for TLOZ creators to do. the sky-view 4-4 (where you can go up-down-left-right-up/right-down/right-down/left-up/left only) games were WAY better than those failures of games, but even those weren't as good as the 3d games starting with OOT. so this better be like twilight princess or else this will be marked [FAIL nr 4]

    • Actually I wanna go on record saying that the Wind Waker series is very important to the Zelda universe. Not so much in the gameplay etc, but in the fact that it establishes much needed _continuity_ for the Zelda universe. So many things happen through the many games, yet according to Miyamoto the series "starts" with Ocarina of Time, and somewhere else I recall hearing that OoT split the games into at least two timelines with the Wind Waker series being one of them. The "what if Link never came" timeline, or something.

What I'm trying to say is that for better or worse, the Wind Waker series (which I still like the look of) gave the series some stablity, establishes continuity, and provides character building for at least 1 character (Niko) who appears in all three games. It gives the world of Hyrule a chance to evolve as technology was increasing, which gives the writers/creators more to work with in terms of variety.

And seriously, if you actually think Ocarina of Time was the best Zelda game ever, you are either very young, or you just didn't give the others a chance. Link to the Past is still highly regarded as one of the best Zelda games out there. I personally saw it and Link's Awakening as the best of the 2-D Zelda games and actually miss those days. Ocarina was a good game to be sure, but it was lacking in several places, too. There rarely is such a thing as a perfect or near-perfect game.

  • ajsdvqeub says:

wind waker and phantom hourglass are good games, wind waker is probably better than twilight princess, graphics aren't everything. And yes, the game will be like twilight princess (kinda) didn't you see the artwork?

  • Darin says:

  • caroline says:

i absolutely have to play this game!! the first time i saw the advertisement i knew it was going to be a good game. i also drew a connection too. if you look at the girl with the pointy hat thing, it is just like the queen of the fairies in ww!! knowing that much there might be a similarity between the games!! :P cant wait!!

  • caroline says:

@hiroshimishima: that is a matter of opinion!! my favorite zelda game is OoT and i have played all the zelda games. i like it simply for it's story line and the characters. i am also very fond of ww, mm, tp, phantom hour glass, st, minish cap, and the two originals. link to the past was a pretty good game as well, but u cant simply say that gamers have no idea what they are talking about if they think OoT is the best!!

  • LinkWii2010 says:

I CAN'T WAIT for E3 2010 i really want the trailer and to see the demo…ZELDA ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DSD says:

it will probably take place between MM & LoZ.I LOVE OOT Link he kicked the entire moon's ass as a kid in MM!!!

  • DSD says:

I think that they mean fighting enemies to solve puzzles is to stun enemies on a switch or turn them into rock with a wand and move them like a block and they should let link move blocks sideways

  • superzeldafan says:

if you look closely there is a dragon on the right under links hand
