Valentines Day 2010 Artwork

Are you an artist that likes to dwell in the world of romantic artwork? Then this is just for you! Here at Zelda Dungeon we are hosting our second Zelda Fan Artwork project, and this one has a Valentines Day theme!

What we are looking for is to try to gather plenty of romantic Zelda artwork to put together in our image gallery, as well as making a cool collage of all the submissions that we do get. There are just two simple requirements.

1. Let’s make artwork with a romantic theme. This can include artwork with Link, Princess Zelda, Malon, Midna, Anju/Kafei, or any other characters in the Zelda series.

2. Let’s be creative, but let’s not be overly revealing.

That’s it! If you are interested in submitting artwork for the project you can do it in one of many ways. The best way to submit your artwork is by simply e-mailing me at mases26@gmail.com. You can also post links to your artwork in the comments of this post, or you can post them at the Valentine’s Day thread over at our forums. Thanks ahead of time for any submissions you do send in and I’m looking forward to looking at all the work!

I like how Ilia was completely neglected, even though she's probably one of the closest things to an actual love interest that there is. Just goes to show how hated she is by most of the fandom.

Well for the longest time everyone (or maybe just me) has said "Gods, Nintendo, just let Link and Zelda get TOGETHER for pete's sake, we're sick of always wondering will they/won't they." And Nintendo was like "Okay, here's another love interest." And it pissed off a lot of fans because most people had already fanshipped Link with Zelda, Malon, Ruto, Saria, and every other damned female in the series. Personally, I loved Ilia, and it pissed me off how she got the raw end of the stick. Nintendo tried to make it seem like they were an item but largely ignored her through out the game once you actually found her. :/

I'd still like to see Link and Zelda get together in a game's prologue and have that be a major part of a storyline. Or you know, have Zelda take a more active role. Yes she was Navi's replacement in ST (which was cool) but she needs MORE active roles, too. Especially with Nintendo emphasizing that she's capable of fighting in Smash Brothers.

I didn't like Ilia. She had almost no personality and didn't look striking enough. And she was ignored most part of the game ¬¬

She had no personality cause pretty much EVERYONE in the last Zelda game lacked personality. And dialogue. As for her appearence, I don't think women should look overly beautiful, and it's a sad state of affairs that video games are going out of their way to aim for "hollywood beauty" instead of real beauty. Look at how ungodly sexed up Samus Aran has become. The only two characters with any real personality in TP were Midna and Zant, with Zelda off in the distance as third. Personally, I thought Ilia was very cute (which I prefer over sexy), and if she'd just been given more significance to the storyline, she might've had more personality. Link was so wooden he didn't even seem to care about her. Hell, they went out of their way to only work on Link's relationship with Midna… to the point where Midna started flirting with him during the ending.

..and please don't compare Ilia to Midna, they're two totally different kinds of girls…

The only times I've seen link get any pussy was in zelda 2. Either with the ladies that fill your health and magic or at the end when princess zelda is woken up.

Aw, i'd really like to make some sort of entry but my drawing skills compare to that of-… Well, I don't think there's anybody I could compare it to, i'm simply awful.

But I can't wait to see some interesting and creative artwork, and I really think the second requirement is upheld, I really don't want to have classic Zelda characters turned into… Erhm, "Final Fantasy" subjects.

Oh and it's kind of weird, isn't it? That there's never been any real romance between Link or anybody else in any Zelda game (To my knowledge)
I guess they didn't want it to be too sappy and romantic. Well, unless we're talking about the animated show! (Excuuuuuuuuuuuse me princess!)

I think it's funny in ST how you hook up the chief of Whittleton Village/Mayscore Village with somebody in Papuchia/Papuzia (It's all very confusing…), but then later on bring the lady from Papuchia's husband back and he get's rejected, but he still gives you a force gem!

Oh gods that reminds me, the show was freaking awesome. I wish it'd lasted more than 13 episodes, though. ;_;
