If there was a live action Zelda movie officially released, who would you want to see in it? We recently got to see the low budget fan film The Hero of Time, in which the cast was filled with no-name actors. All the way back almost two years ago we got a fake Zelda movie trailer from IGN, in which the cast was filled with more unknown actors. What if it wasn’t? What if we could make our own dream cast of Movie stars to fill the role of the Zelda characters?
The guys over at 8daysageek have done just that. The man you see pictured to the right is Jamie Campbell Bower, and that is their choice to play Link. Listed below is their full roundup of their dream Zelda cast.

I had to laugh at that list, because having at least two well known comedians would definitely make a Zelda movie epic and memorable. I'm not sure if that is sarcasm or truth on my part, I can't decide. I will say, however, that I find the idea of having Beyonce (who I like) as Nabooru is a bad idea. The Gerudo aren't black, they're tan. While I understand that people wanna be PC and all that, you don't need to go changing characters around to fit actors you like. By that logic all the Gerudo'd have to be black, which'd make Gannondorf black, too…
But I digress, I really don't see a Zelda movie happening, and I get the feeling it'd end up being a cross between Super Mario Brothers, Resident Evil, and Dragon Ball Evolution. Besides, after watching There Will Be Brawl, it'll be hard to picture someone else as Link or Zelda or Gannondorf. I say, instead of people always trying to have Americans make video game movies, when they don't know how.. they should let the Japanese handle it. Some of the people might not look the best (but the American version wouldn't be any better) but they really know how to do that kinda stuff. Like I said, though, on the topic of a Metroid movie a while back… don't cast people we know, because it usually clouds our interpretation of the film since we look at the actors and think of them from other movies/shows.

Actually, if you want to look at how Zelda relates to the history of OUR world, it's kind of safe to say that Zelda was stylized after medieval times in ancient England…usually during these times if there was a darker skinned person, these people would be seen as Moors (i.e. Othello who was a Moor; Shakespearian literature)…usually Moors (or the equivalent of Muslims in today's society) were ppl of middle eastern to Northern African descent….sooooo technically, the Gerudo people may very well be based off of these people….however the ethnicities and subcultures of OUR world should have no bearings on who plays who in the land of Hyrule because the cultures WE are familiar with do not exist there so I feel like anybody could play anybody (maybe except Link n Zelda lol, they'd probably make more sense to being played by the subculture Caucasian of OUR world) but as far as anyone else, i feel like it's fair game…so if Beyonce played Nabooru that doesn't mean that Ganondorf HAS to be played by a black man…because let's face it, no matter what race of OUR world plays a character from the land of Hyrule, they will still have to use make up and props so that they'd look Gerudo, as Gerudo isn't a real race of people lol
ok, so malon and talon?? THIS MANY YEARS FOR AN ORCARINA MOVIE?!?!? thats just upseting, you'd think they'ed have a crappy LoZ movie and an ok one and NOW make a remake like TMNT but no

I actually think that the IGN cast was perfect. It looked really nice, depending on which Zelda game the movie is based on. If it was TP, then definitely add Johnny Depp as Zant, and we have our first good VG movie ready to go.

Well first off the characters should be played by unknown actors and it would be nice to see Zelda played by a black girl who can sport blonde hair, it would just give it more depth(the movie). For the part of Link I always thought David Henrie.

they have to make it on Ocarina of Time and then move up from there, plus Twilite Princess isnt even the original Link so it wouldnt be right then. so it should be Ocarina of time plus there is more of a story line then.

I think Sterling Knight would make a good Link. Like Link he has blue eyes and blond hair and looks good in green. =3
Also, I think that with a very heavy tan, some makeup and some armor, that Alec Baldwin could make a good Ganondorf.

Sterling Knight is not far off, and cute, but he would probably need to mess up his hair a bit. It's all flat.
Now that I think about it, Jesse McCartney could be good as Link.

If they made a "Twilight Princess" movie, Queen Latifah would be perfect to play Telma!
I haven't really given any thought to any other characters, but the first time I played the game and saw Telma, Queen Latifah was the first person who came to mind.

Hmm… Some of these hypothetical casting choices would work better if it were, I dunno, a CGI animated film… Heck, Zelda would work better as a CGI animated film, period.
I didn't have the fortune (or misfortune) to see The Hero of Time before Nintendo forced them to take it off the Web, but I've heard mixed things about it: Some said it was good, others said it was bad. Just like any other movie.
Also, NO, Zac Efron or Jesse McCartney would NOT be good as Link. Jesse McCartney's a SINGER, dangit! And to be honest… I have no idea who Dominic Purcell is. In fact, the only cast member of 8daysageek's choices I recognize is Robbie Coltrane. Also, yeah, Jamie Campbell Bower looks like a girl.
I think if someone tried to make an official Zelda film, it would suck. Because video game movies suck. It's a fact of life. Unless it was done by, I dunno, Steven Spielberg or something. But he probably wouldn't do it.

i kind of agree because if u think about it what video game movies have been made that were actually good quality? i havent seen one….. yeah it is sad to say so, but it kind of is true. plus even if you are a zelda fan, it would be kind of hard to take the movie seriously…….

Renee Zelweger should play Zelda. And as for whether the kid above is a guy or girl, always look for the adam's apple. as gamer geeks it will save some of you a good deal of hassle and wasted money once you begin actively pursuing your sex life.

okay if they do a movie it SHOULD NOT be an Ocarina of Time movie.. it should be a legend of zelda movie and be a 100% unique and NEW storyline… The Sage of Darkness was a perfect example of this. It shouldnt be a movie about a video game it should be a movie about the LEGEND of zelda. and dont do a young link young zelda storyline that will kill the movie and either make it too crammed or too long. Have one link and follow his story. also no known characters except for Zelda Link and Ganondorf unless its a minor minor character done as a tip of the had to fans of the game.
